Review: Mark of the Mage by R.K. Ryals

Books never die, but they can be forbidden.

Medeisia is a country in turmoil ruled by a blood thirsty king who has outlawed the use of magic and anything pertaining to knowledge. Magery and scribery are forbidden. All who practice are marked with a tattoo branded onto their wrists, their futures precarious.

Sixteen year-old Drastona Consta-Mayria lives secluded, spending her spare time in the Archives of her father's manor surrounded by scribes. She wants nothing more than to become one of them, but when the scribes are royally disbanded, she is thrust into a harsh world where the marked must survive or die.

First I would like to thank R.K Ryals for gifting me a copy of her book. Sixteen yr old Drastona has always love spending time in the archives and learning the scribes till one day they were royally disbanded. Next thing she knows she is heading to the kingdom with her father and stepmother till something bad happens on the way there. She gets branded and toss in the cage but she isn't there for long thanks to Kye helping her escape. He tells her to head in the forest and when she gets in there everything changes for her. She starts talking to the trees and even a wolf. She meets up with some rebels and even a couple of dragons. She will find out more about herself and even finds out about who her mother was. Mark of the Mage was very good and even a twist I didn't see coming myself. What are you waiting for and go get your copy now..
