Review: The Lonely by Tara Brown

The Lonely

The truth is subjective, to what the lonely lets in.

Emalyn Spicer has lived with the lonely for a long time. She thinks it goes back further than her memories do. She knows it goes back further than the OCD.
When she arrives at college, her OCD's and the lonely refuse to let her have her wish to be normal. Her wish to get away from them both.
But how to you get away from something that is inside of you?
How do you escape yourself?
Just as she gives up, succumbs to the lonely, the unthinkable happens.
She finds herself once again in the dark, once again held against her will.
But there in the darkness, she meets the lonely head on. She discovers there is more to her world than she ever imagined.
She discovers the lonely was there for her, protecting her from herself.

How far would you go to find yourself?

First I would like to thank Tara Brown for sending me a Arc Copy of The Lonely. I never read a book with someone that has OCD so it was different to see how that played out. Emalyn has OCD and she has been through a lot over the years. Well now that she is going to college with her best friend Michelle she just wants to be normal like everyone else. Her best friend Michelle is always there for her when she needs her the most. She is like her security blanket and plus very protective of Em. She is great and I love Shell and plus girl can make you laugh as well on the stuff she be saying. You will see Emalyn meet a guy name Sebastian and she will have some freak outs with him but he doesn't get push away that easily. He just wants to help her. Then you also have as what emalyn and Michelle like to call him Uncle Daddy Weirdo but she never knows his name or sees him. He pays everything for her. He is very protective of her and wants to make her safe but at the same time he wants her to remember her past. He will do anything to help her remember even if its to repeat some of the things she went through in her past. The question is why he wants her to remember her past and him? You will have to read the book yourself to find out and some of the things she goes through i wouldn't wish upon anyone but the story line is great and you can't help but fall in love with all the characters.
